Pippa Waterman

Director

Pippa has spent the last few years specialising in public consultation as part of the Development Consent Order process for large infrastructure projects. She thrives on delivering compliant consultations in highly regulated sectors to tight timescales having worked on Wylfa Newydd, Gatwick and most recently bp’s first offshore wind farm application. She was working on the Bradwell B project (a new nuclear power station in Essex) when the COVID-19 pandemic started, and was instrumental in converting the consultation from face-to-face to online. Indeed, the work of the Bradwell B team was highlighted as best practice at the time in a National Infrastructure Planning Association (NIPA) paper ‘DEVELOPMENT CONSENT ORDERS AND THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC’. Before Pippa set up on her own, she worked for many years within the nuclear fission sector in generation, decommissioning and waste management. She was also lucky to be able to live and work in Calgary, Canada for a while working in the oil and gas industry – a time in her life she calls her ‘adult gap year(s)’! There’s nothing Pippa likes more than a potter somewhere new, whether it’s a new town or village, an old castle, museum or musty old house, as long as there’s a tea shop with cake she’s happy.

Saranne Postans

Director

Saranne has more than 20 years’ experience in communications and stakeholder engagement with 15 of those years spent working in nuclear fission and fusion. Most recently, Saranne has been supporting newcleo with their siting activities – leading on stakeholder engagement as part of the core siting team, as well as supporting the corporate communications team. Previously, she led communications for STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production), the UK’s programme to build the world’s first fusion energy power plant. As Head of Communications, she worked with stakeholders from government ministers to local residents to deliver the successful selection of the West Burton site as the future home of STEP. Saranne has also worked for Horizon Nuclear Power leading communications and community engagement in North Wales and for Magnox, where she was Head of Communications with responsibility for sites, Corporate Social Responsibility and socio-economic investment. When not working, Saranne’s passions are open water swimming, walking and anything else that happens outside! She also loves live music of any kind, from musicals to festivals and everything in between.
