This year the theme of International Women’s Day is ‘Give to Gain’ focusing on generosity and collaboration, both of which are at the heart of C3 Communications.
For us, that shows up in three ways:
Connection – Our team, and a lot of our partnerships, have come about through a combination of work, family and personal development connections.
Pippa and Saranne have worked together, or alongside each other, for almost 20 years and this long-term, trusting relationship eventually led to them starting the business in 2023.
Similarly, Amy, who joined the team in January 2026, had crossed paths with Pippa and Saranne through their work in the nuclear industry. And, through a chance meeting at a professional development and wellbeing event held in a field in Dorset almost a decade ago, Saranne met our communications associate, Joanne.
While Annabelle, who joined the team in 2024 as our Communications & Administration Officer has a much more personal connection – they’re sister in laws!
A big part of what we do is about making and developing connections with people, whether at industry events or engagement activities, all part of our day to day client work. The wide variety of ways in which we make connections is where the magic lies.
Collaboration – One of our key strengths is collaboration through understanding difference. Pippa and Saranne often joke that they couldn’t be more different as people, with opposite interests and approaches but, through understanding and embracing their differences, they feel they’re a perfect partnership.
Each of the women in our team has their own set of skills, experience and ways of working which we draw on to support our clients. And, most importantly, it’s the diversity of thinking across the team that brings real value as we come at a project from different perspectives to develop our strategies.
Celebration - As a female led business, with a team currently comprised entirely of women, we might be something of an anomaly in the energy and infrastructure industry.
While it’s certainly not a deliberate business strategy, and we work with lots of brilliant men across our projects and partnerships, we’re proud to be a team of women working together in this sector. There’s no competition here, and we believe there continues to be a wealth of untapped female talent in our industry that we will support as we grow and develop C3 Communications.
