Name & role:  Annabelle - Communications & Administration Officer

How long have you worked in infrastructure/energy?

Woman with long brown wavy hair and brown eyes smiling at the camera wearing a light grey top.

I joined the C3 team a year ago to support Saranne, Pippa and the business in both a back-office and a communications capacity.  My background is a complete mix of public and private sectors where I've had a variety of roles, most recently with the National Health Service.

Although I'm fairly new to the infrastructure and energy sector, C3 has so many exciting things going on that I've been able to support on a variety of projects including offshore wind, fusion and nuclear. I have found that my experience with a range of different corporate structures has given me a great foundation to understand the needs of both small, independent businesses as well as huge, multi-national corporations. It is this understanding and experience that I bring to C3 and their client base.

What are your special skills?

I often find myself being brought into teams as a fresh pair of eyes to review existing processes with a view to making sure that systems are working as they need to be... and making changes where necessary to improve flow and efficiency. I do love getting my organisational hat on to keep everything running smoothly, especially if it requires a spreadsheet!

My main role with C3 is to keep everything organised and everyone on target with their deliverables.  This requires a certain amount of nagging, but I think my personable and understanding approach means I get away with it!  I prioritise building strong relationships with those I work with whether that's my direct colleagues, suppliers or clients.  Getting to the bottom of someone's 'why' means that we can all move forward towards our end goal quicker, more efficiently, and maybe have some fun along the way, delivering the best results!

Career highlight/favourite type of project:

I love to be involved in a project from start to finish, especially when that team environment is working to a united end goal.   A few years ago, I was part of a small group tasked with overhauling a database which consisted of thousands of records that were part of a system that was no longer fit for purpose. This project required a huge amount of focus and attention to detail and allowed me to use my experience and skills to improve the ways of working and build a robust system that was not only now fit for purpose but allowed the users to work more efficiently saving both time and money.

Random fact about you:

When not working with C3 I am a Stand Up Paddleboarding Coach and take people on paddling adventures in the UK and overseas - it feeds my soul and love of being outdoors, and getting to share some really special places with others is such a privilege. Most recent trips have been to paddle and hike in Snowdonia National Park and to Slovenia, teaching people to SUP on white water in the Soca Valley.
